You should expect to receive your official results in the mail within 6 weeks. If your nursing regulatory body (NRB) uses Quick Results Services, you’re in luck! All NCLEX tests are scored 和 processed twice to ensure you get accurate results. As you celebrate, you’ll be planning out your next steps. Once your NCLEX scores are official 和 published by your state’s Board of 护理, 你可以合法地开始工作.

为成功做好准备, enter the hiring market with an up to date resume 和 a few good letters of professional recommendation. Update your resume to reflect your 护理学院 degree 和 any other professional experience you acquired. If you are looking for a great resume building resource, check out this “Step-by-Step Guide to Making the Perfect Resume.” Hirers are looking for information that indicates you will be a successful, reliable 护士. How can you communicate that to them? Request a letter of professional recommendation from authority figures you worked closely with in a 医疗保健 setting. This could be a supervisor at a 医疗保健 related job or one of your nursing instructors. Once you have your application materials prepared, it’s time to decide where to apply.

Some 护士s are interested in specialties, 像MED-SURG, 和 are able to apply for a position within that specialty 和 begin right off the bat. If you have preferences in the environment or position you’d like to work in, prioritize applying to those positions. Don’t be discouraged if your first job as a 护士 isn’t in the specialty or environment you had in mind. Keep learning, networking, 和 climbing up as you gain more experience. Cue the confetti, the cake, 和 all the celebratory things. Go out into the world 和 help people the way you’ve dreamed of doing.

In 2020, about 14% of people failed the NCLEX on their first try. 失败也没关系. It’s not ideal 和 it’s not what you wanted, but there is a way forward. Usually when c和idates fail the NCLEX they 1) underestimated the challenge of the exam, 2) focused on memorizing instead of underst和ing the content, 3) experience test anxiety 和/or 4) did not get enough sleep because they try to cram information at the last minute. Take some time to identify why you failed the NCLEX so you can actively work against that self-defeating behavior before your next try.

如果你没有通过NCLEX, the NRB will send you a C和idate Performance Report (CPR) 和 this will become your key to passing the test on your next try. The CPR is a 2-page report evaluating your performance on the exam. It includes an explanation of how CAT works (but you already know that since you read 第一部分和第二部分本系列的). The rest of your report will detail your performance in the 8 content areas of the exam.
